One month old!

Penn spent the 4th week of life doing a bit more traveling. We took a few days to go visit my grandparents in Lake Tahoe. It was so much fun introducing Penn to more Great Grandparents.

Meeting Great Grandma Shirley in Lake Tahoe
We also spent one afternoon visiting the Rasmus family over in Reno. Miles was born 3 days before Penn, its so fun having them so close in age.

While in Tahoe, we made a quick drive to Reno to see Joel, Gena and their new son Miles. Miles and Penn are 3 days apart! Lots of fun times ahead with these two!

Grandma Shirley and her Great Grandson!
After getting back to the bay area from Tahoe, we headed up to Redding to celebrate my cousin Laura's marriage to Jeremy! It also happened to be Penn's one month birthday! We spent the evening with lots of family and friends - congrats Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell!!

Family

Penn has been in our lives for 3 weeks now! He is such a good baby, he loves to eat, sleep and finds a few hours a day between naps to play with us. Its amazing the changes that happen daily, its so much fun to witness.

Penn's 2nd and 3rd week have been filled with visits from family and friends - this kid is spoiled! So am I, its been awesome to have a few breaks to shower, eat a full meal, get me hair done.

Here are some pictures of all of some of our visitors!
Uncle Darren "Duncle" came down to visit - he surprised Penn with his first Giants jersey and socks!

Introducing Penn

Heavy, Daisy and I are proud to announce our newest addition to our family - Penn Erling! Penn was born Thursday, June 2nd at 5:03pm, weighing 7 pounds 6 ounces and measuring 20 inches long.
Quick labor story - We checked into Sharp Mary Birch at 7:30pm on Wednesday evening, I started contractions on my own as soon as I got all checked in (which was great) so they just put in an IV and monitored me for a few hours. Around 11:30pm they decided to give me a small dose of cytotec which helped me get to 5 cm by early morning when the contractions started to be pretty painful. Somewhere between 5 cm and 8 cm I got the epidural, which helped out tremendously! My water broke on its own as the anesthesiologist gave me the epidural and by noon I was at 10 cm. My doctor had a c-section scheduled so I didn't start pushing until close to 1pm. I pushed from 1 until 4pm when the doctor finally came in to give me some options. I asked for 30 more minutes to push before making any decisions, which she gave me and still no Penn. So at 5pm, the doctor with a team of about 8 came in to assist me. One push with the help of that vacuum on Penn's head and he was out. Yay!!!

We spent the next 24 hours recovering and got released Friday at 5pm.

Thank you to everyone for your visits, text messages, phone calls, emails, etc. We appreciate all your kind words, gifts, meals!!

It looks like our little guy is just still not ready to make an appearance on his own so the doctors will be helping out this evening! I will be checking in at Sharp at 7:30pm tonight to get induced, I am already dilated 2cm and effaced so I hope to being sharing news and pictures some point tomorrow, June 2nd!
