Nugget - 17 weeks

Here are my most recent belly pictures. I'm trying to take my profile pictures in the same outfit every time, sorry if you are getting sick of looking at me in workout pants and a beater!

We are just days away from finding out if Nugget is a boy or a girl! My ultrasound is Monday night and we are quite excited, we are still hearing a lot more "its a boy" than "its a girl". I really have no idea, I might be the only pregnant girl that doesn't have a feeling of what they are having.
Hopefully Nug cooperates, it will be so fun to share the news with the family and friends over Christmas!

I am almost 18 weeks and feeling very good. The tired/drowsy feeling has been so much better the last few weeks, people were right about feeling great your 2nd trimester. My face has cleared up a bit, I think I have Andrea to thank for this though! Thank you for the great advice!

New this week...besides my expanding belly.

Lots of dreaming! I feel like I am having so many crazy dreams every night, some about the baby, others just random situations. I think its contagious because Trisha had a dream Monday that I delivered a healthy baby at 40 weeks and the baby was so small we wrapped it in string cheese instead of a blanket. Ha

Sleepless nights. I am officially no longer able to sleep on my stomach...boo. I bought a huge body pillow which is helping me get used to sleeping on my side a little but I'm still waking up a lot at night. Having to go the bathroom so often does not help my sleep issues either.

Gas bubbles/stomach flutters. After I eat I get these faint little flutters which I assumed were gas but I keep reading that it might be baby movements. I hope to feel Nugget really soon!!

Nugget - 15 weeks

Here is my 15 week side profile BUT since this picture was taking (which was just 10 days ago) things have changed. Nugget is growing!!
I have my OB appt tomorrow so I will hopefully have some new pictures of Nugget, I will also take a new picture of the bump!

Portland Holiday Ale Festival

This past weekend we flew up to Oregon for their annual Holiday Ale Festival which takes place in downtown Portland. They set up huge heated tents and dozens of breweries pass out their strongest beers! It also happened to be the weekend of the Civil War, Oregon v Oregon State football game, which was pretty fun. It is a huge game in Oregon, felt as big as the Superbowl.

I was quite impressed with the food in Portland, everyone else kept raving about the beer. Friday included lunch at Deschutes Brewing, followed by a wonderful dinner at Portsmouth Brewery, then cocktails at Rogue. Saturday was the day of the festival. We all met at noon in the tents, the boys did some serious beer tasting while we all watched football among the crazed fans. Oregon won of course!
After a few hours, the girls left to take advantage of the nearby shopping (and no sales tax!). We met up in the evening for dinner at Jake's Bar and Grill, yummy seafood!

It was a great weekend, a bit chilly at times but then again it is December. (San Diego is in the 70's this week!!)

Heavy, Ronna, Daisy and....

NUGGET!

After passing my third and final test for my EA license, I rushed home to celebrate with Heavy! We planned a full day of activities, including meeting our friends Devon, Dave, Jen and Ryan downtown that night for cocktails. Just to be on the safe side, I took a pregnancy test before we popped open the champers to celebrate. Result - positive! But I didn't really believe it. Took another test after pounding water - positive. I decided to hold off on the cocktails and share the findings with Heavy at this point. But I must have still been in shock because I had convinced Heavy and myself that the tests have all been defective. I ran down to CVS to purchase 3 more. All positive! I'M PREGNANT!!

Baby has been named Nugget until we find out the sex at the end of December/early January. Nugget should be arriving some time around May 24th, 2011.

Week 8 - First OB appt

With Heavy out of town for work, my mom flew down to be with me this first appointment. I was feeling a little nervous because I still thought I might not be pregnant. I just had not had many symptoms yet and somehow convinced myself those home pregnancy tests could be wrong.
The doctors put me at ease, I was able to see and hear Nuggets heartbeat. It was amazing to hear such a loud and fast heartbeat from something that was the size of a raspberry. Everything looked good and Nugget seemed to be right on track for the May 24th due date.

Here are the first pictures of Nugget.

Week 10 - new symptoms

Exhaustion - I have been super lucky so far in my pregnancy, no morning sickness or nausea!! The only real symptom has been exhaustion, anything and everything makes me tired. I am really hoping this ends after my first trimester.

Weight Gain - None yet. I have actually lost a few pounds, not because of my hard workouts or smart food choices BUT because I have had to give up my wine and beer!

Emotional - I have been known to shed a tear or two when I see a cute movie but lately I find myself crying at random events - Giants games, Today Show, Oprah, Biggest Loser and even Undercover Boss this past Sunday.

Tiny Tanks - I went from waking up once a night to 4 to 5 times this past weekend. Its not to bad because Im still so tired that I can easily fall back asleep. Just not sure much Heavy enjoys me waking him up so many times.

Acne - It's worse than my teenage years. I finally got to see the dermatologist but since Im pregnant, the treatment options are limited.

3 months and end of first trimester!!

So today was my 12 week appointment. Heavy was able to tag along this time which was so much fun. Because I am a little further along we got to do the ultrasound from my belly but she warned it might not be super clear. But it was, our baby was waiving arms and legs, rolling over and moving all about. It was such an amazing thing to see, I know Nugget is only the size of a plum but you could easily see the face and body parts. Here is a picture.
Darren thinks our baby is going to share his nickname - Fathead!

Heavy turns 3-2!

Heavy's birthday this year landed on a Wednesday, middle of the work week so not too fun. I decided to push off his birthday celebration a few days and celebrate over the weekend along with a few other birthday buddies - Heather and Phil. We all met up at Coronado Brewing Company for a fun night of drinks and yummy food!

Heavy is actually happy. He just LOVES to ruin my pictures with him.

Heavy's favorite birthday cake!!
We rented a limo to drive us around that night which was pretty fun. We had the limo for 5 hours so after dinner we followed Heather and Sam back to their house. The boys played pool while the girls gossiped and played with adorable little Jada!

Maui Vacation

Maui twice in one year....yes, I'm spoiled! Heavy, my brother, Joel, Gena and I joined Audra who is in Maui the entire month of October to celebrate her 30th birthday. We rented a large condo right past the black rock on Kannapali Beach which was the perfect location for us. We were on the beach, close to all the restaurants, bars, stores and Heavy's favorite Maui Brewing Company.

Here are a few pictures from our trip!
Darren and I our first night - heading to Maui Brewing Co. for dinner and beers!

The girls at MBC, right before the Minderasers arrived. Good idea D.

Pool time our first full day in Maui. Darren arrived with inflatable flamingo beer koozies. This was the first "Ming Race", a lovely drinking game. Heavy lost this round!

Monday Night Football...at 2:15pm. Gena, Heavy, Auds, Darren, Joel and I watched the game at Duke's.

We took a road trip to one of the islands blowholes.

$1 Drinks at Moose's.

Heavy and I left the group on Wednesday and drove around the island to Hana. Besides it being very a narrow and windy road out there, the trip was awesome. We stopped to see some beautiful waterfalls and beaches. Here we are at one of the stops.

The view of the sun rising from our Hana hotel.

Before heading back to Kaanapali, Heavy and I hiked up the back hills of Hana.

Night out in Lahaina at Cheeseburger in Paradise.

Not much to say about this, just love this photo. Darren is trying to catch up with this runner to ask him what he thinks about his tank top.

On the shuttle about to start the pubcrawl.

Pubcrawl through Kaanapali - I think we only made it to 5 this night.

Girls Trip

After Darren's bday weekend, my mom and I drove up to Tahoe to help my grandparents do some repairs around their Tahoe house. My grandpa took me out on the lake bright and early Thursday morning to do some Kokanee fishing, the best time to catch is 6am! I caught three fish!
The lake was amazingly calm and the weather was perfect, I was in a tank top and shorts by 8am.

After working at the house, we decided to plan a girls trip so my mom and I took my grandma to the casinos to do some gambling! It was the weekend of the Celebrity Golf Tournament so the casinos were filled with professional athletes. We tried our luck on the slots, roulette and at the black jack tables but unfortunately we were not big winners.
We did enjoy a lovely dinner at 19 which is at the top of Harvey's.

Prettiest meal - Chilean Sea Bass with Lobster...YUMMM

Cottoncandy arrived with our check. YUMMM again.

The Banuelos Family was up in Tahoe so I got to hang out and play with them for a bit.

1:30am and we finally decided to call it a night. Grams was a party animal!
We had to order room service since we worked up such an appetite after gambling. Burger, fries and nachos - soo healthy!

We checked out of the casino and headed back to the house to finish up some work.
Painting time!! This is pretty much one of the ugliest outfits ever but I had to show off my painting attire my grandma dressed me in. Mom jeans that came up 2 inches above my bellybutton and a cut off shirt - jealous??

Finished project! New bathroom

Darren's 30th Birthday Weekend

My brother Darren turned the BIG 3-0 this past Monday so Heavy, my sister and I headed up to the bay to help celebrate with the birthday boy. Those of you that know Darren know he is never content with just one party, this year we had 3 separate events - pub crawl, golf and BBQ.

Since one of Darren's favorite days of the year is St. Patty's Day, we decided that the theme for Saturday should include lots of beers, Irish bars and green attire. Audra organized a party bus to drive about 30 of us to some of San Francisco's best Irish pubs, it was such a fun day!

Sunday morning, day two of celebrations for Darren, kicked off with 12 of us going golfing at Dublin Ranch Golf Course in Dublin. It was a super nice day with little wind which made golf a bit more enjoyable, most of us were fighting hangovers so we needed all the help we could get. Mark kicked all of our butts with shooting 3 over par!!
After finishing our rounds, we headed back to my parents house where the BBQ had already started. The boys played some beer pong, we took a dip in the pool and enjoyed a few more cocktails with a lot of family and friends.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARREN!
