Belly Shots - Week 24 and Week 25

Heavy has been traveling for work a lot so these last 2 weeks of belly shots are attempts at using my self timer on my new camera. Not amazing photos but they show my growth!

----------Week 24---------

---------Week 25---------

Week 25

I had my 6 month appointment this week. Things are looking good! My gestational diabetes test is next week and then I have my ultrasound to check up on the previa issue on February 28. Hoping the placenta has moved a bit!!

Stats as of Monday....
Packed on 14 pounds so far
Nugs heart rate is 145 bpm which is normal
My BP 110/72
A lot of people have been wondering what I crave, can and cannot eat. I am lucky!! My body is fine with everything, nothing has given me a problem. I just like to eat everything more often then before! Here are a few items that I want most days...

Love these in my cereal, yogurt, mixed with other fruit or just alone.

Daisy and I might be obsessed!

Cannot go into a store without buying Swedish Fish

My on the run snack all the time
And the next two I have to have together, Veg Sausage from Trader Joe's and Sauerkraut. YUMM!

Sarah's Baby Shower

Melissa, Keli, Kristin and I headed up to Santa Barbara two weekends ago to celebrate Sarah and Nick's soon-to-be newest addition! The baby shower was on Saturday so we made a weekend out of it, stopping in Thousand Oaks to stay with Randi (thank you again Randi!) on the way up and then spending all day Saturday and enough time for breakfast Sunday morning in SB. The weather was amazing and all of us wished we could have stayed longer. Still in our quick trip we were able to squeeze in Silvergreens before the shower, a walk down State Street (sober this time around...not like the old days!!), a lovely dinner at The Boathouse with Sarah and her family, and then a yummy breakfast on the patio at Esau's Cafe on Sunday. Yes, eating was the theme for the weekend, that and telling old stories and laughing hysterically!!
Here are a few pictures...(thank you Keli!)

A look back at January...

So a lot has changed in our lives the past month. I apologize for my lack of blogging - I feel like the month just flew by! I promise to be better.

First off, December 31st, while vacationing in Reno, I got a call that I got the job I interviewed for back in November and that they would need me to start immediately. I informed the company I was pregnant during my interview so it made accepting the job so easy. I started the first week in January and have really been enjoying it so far. Its a financial services firm in downtown La Jolla, corner of Prospect and Faye, which is so much fun - tons of people around, lots of yummy restaurants, bars, trendy boutiques, etc. The company is expanding their services and offering tax preparation this year which I will be doing, along with being the office coordinator. I should stay very busy until Nuggets arrival in May!!

Nugget is doing very well. Our January appointment showed that he was the right size, great heartbeat, and all my test results came back with good results. The only minor issue is that I have partial placenta previa which just means that the placenta attached to the lower part of my uterine wall, partially covering my cervix. The fear in previa is that when the cervix opens during labor, the placenta is detached which obviously can cause a lot of problems. I have another ultrasound in 4 weeks at week 28 to see if there has been any change. Worse case scenario is that it wont move over the next 16 weeks and I will be scheduled for a c-section. But cross your fingers it moves!

Daisy has had a big month too. Since she has never been left alone for more than 4-5 hours at a time, partly because she is extremely spoiled and partly because she still needs 3 rounds of pills a day. So my amazing sister has picked up a shift, I take Daisy over to her house at 6:40am and she entertains her, walks her and gives her the afternoon meds and then heads to work herself. Then I swoop Daisy back up at 3:30pm every day, leaving her alone for just 2 hours! She did some pouting the first week but I think she now enjoys the change in scenery! I cannot thank Trisha enough for all her help!

And another change - my size! I don't think I popped very early but as soon as I did last month it has really taken off. At my 21 week appointment, January 7th, I had gained 9 pounds total. The doctors seemed to like this number. BUT these last 4 weeks I have seem to double in size. Im a little nervous to hear what they say to me next Monday. I have all new clothes, even my workout stretch pants got uncomfortable!
Nugget is definitely moving a lot now. I really feel him after I eat, especially at night. I think its so fun!

January also included a 5 day trip by my parents, my sisters 26th birthday celebration, a girls weekend getaway to celebrate our friend Sarah's baby shower up in Santa Barbara (pictures on the way), a week stay by Audra who has begun her work on the nursery (our xmas gift from her!) and my brother for a quick 3-day weekend. It was a great way to start the year!!

2011 is going to be a fun year for babies. So many of my close friends are pregnant or plan on getting pregnant very soon! Nug is going to have a lot of best friends!

Week 23

I can't hide this bump any longer....

ps - if it looks like I cut short bangs, I did not. Those are all new hairs that are finally long enough to sit on my forehead. It has been a fun adventure trying to deal with these guys the past two months.

New Years 2011

After a wonderful Xmas in the bay, Heavy and I drove up to Reno to ring in the new year with Joel and Gena. Although it was quite cold, Heavy was able to get in one full day of skiing in at Mount Rose.  I enjoyed Reno from indoors mostly - we did some shopping, watched movies, ate! We did do some walking by the river downtown to burn some calories one of days.
I did not handle the cold temps very well as you can see by my attire below.

Its so fun celebrating with another prego girl, I finally had someone who was always ready to eat with me, be ready for bed by 10:30pm every night and someone to share non alcoholic drinks with as the ball dropped and 2011 arrived. It was nice for Heavy to have some drinking partners too since I have not been so fun the last 5 months!

And of course, our lovely side baby belly shots!
