So a lot has changed in our lives the past month. I apologize for my lack of blogging - I feel like the month just flew by! I promise to be better.
First off, December 31st, while vacationing in Reno, I got a call that I got the job I interviewed for back in November and that they would need me to start immediately. I informed the company I was pregnant during my interview so it made accepting the job so easy. I started the first week in January and have really been enjoying it so far. Its a financial services firm in downtown La Jolla, corner of Prospect and Faye, which is so much fun - tons of people around, lots of yummy restaurants, bars, trendy boutiques, etc. The company is expanding their services and offering tax preparation this year which I will be doing, along with being the office coordinator. I should stay very busy until Nuggets arrival in May!!
Nugget is doing very well. Our January appointment showed that he was the right size, great heartbeat, and all my test results came back with good results. The only minor issue is that I have partial placenta previa which just means that the placenta attached to the lower part of my uterine wall, partially covering my cervix. The fear in previa is that when the cervix opens during labor, the placenta is detached which obviously can cause a lot of problems. I have another ultrasound in 4 weeks at week 28 to see if there has been any change. Worse case scenario is that it wont move over the next 16 weeks and I will be scheduled for a c-section. But cross your fingers it moves!
Daisy has had a big month too. Since she has never been left alone for more than 4-5 hours at a time, partly because she is extremely spoiled and partly because she still needs 3 rounds of pills a day. So my amazing sister has picked up a shift, I take Daisy over to her house at 6:40am and she entertains her, walks her and gives her the afternoon meds and then heads to work herself. Then I swoop Daisy back up at 3:30pm every day, leaving her alone for just 2 hours! She did some pouting the first week but I think she now enjoys the change in scenery! I cannot thank Trisha enough for all her help!
And another change - my size! I don't think I popped very early but as soon as I did last month it has really taken off. At my 21 week appointment, January 7th, I had gained 9 pounds total. The doctors seemed to like this number. BUT these last 4 weeks I have seem to double in size. Im a little nervous to hear what they say to me next Monday. I have all new clothes, even my workout stretch pants got uncomfortable!
Nugget is definitely moving a lot now. I really feel him after I eat, especially at night. I think its so fun!
January also included a 5 day trip by my parents, my sisters 26th birthday celebration, a girls weekend getaway to celebrate our friend Sarah's baby shower up in Santa Barbara (pictures on the way), a week stay by Audra who has begun her work on the nursery (our xmas gift from her!) and my brother for a quick 3-day weekend. It was a great way to start the year!!
2011 is going to be a fun year for babies. So many of my close friends are pregnant or plan on getting pregnant very soon! Nug is going to have a lot of best friends!
